We are seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Finance Officer for an anticipatory project focused on Climate change. Helvetas Bangladesh will lead the project implementation through multiple international organisations in a consortium set-up. The Finance Officer will be directly supervised by the Senior Finance Manager.
Financial Management: • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, and cash flow management. • Monitor project expenditures and review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance. • Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. • Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. • Coordinate with other finance officers from consortium partners to ensure consistency in financial practices, reporting standards, and the timely disbursement of funds across partners. • Track the progress of fund utilization by each partner, ensuring that all financial contributions and commitments Budgeting and Reporting: • Prepare and monitor the project budget, working closely with relevant stakeholders to set financial targets and projections. • Coordinate the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Provide regular updates to the project team on the financial performance of the project. • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis reports. • Facilitate the consolidation of financial reports from each consortium partner, ensuring that all data is aligned and presented in a format. • Coordinate the submission of joint financial reports for the consortium to the donor, ensuring timely compliance with funding requirements. • Ensure that financial reports are adapted to meet the specific requirements of donor or funding agency within the consortium. Financial Compliance: • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines established by the funding agencies or governing bodies. • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project financial policies and ensure adherence by all team members and partners. • Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and implement recommendations for improving financial practices. • Monitor and manage risks related to financial management and suggest strategies for mitigating these risks. • Coordinate with the finance teams of consortium partners to ensure that all partners comply with donor financial regulations and guidelines. • Ensure smooth financial integration between consortium partners by regularly communicating with finance officers from each organization to align processes Coordination and Collaboration: • Liaise with consortium partners and other stakeholders to receive and provide financial information and reports. • Collaborate with project managers and coordinators to align financial goals with project objectives. • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, grant applications, and financial budgets for new opportunities. • Organize regular coordination meetings with finance representatives from each consortium partner to ensure smooth financial operations and alignment with the project's objectives.
Experience: • Minimum 3 years of working experience in financial management, preferably in an INGO consortium set-up. • Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Proficient in using office software tools (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets, databases). • Experience working on SDC-funded projects will add value. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. • A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) will be an added advantage. Skills: • Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and reporting. • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced use of spreadsheet applications. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial data. • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. • Ability to work under pressure and complete deliverables on time. • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
Senior Finance Manager
Dhaka, Bangladesh
8.5 hours per day including lunch break 30 minutes in between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
A national employment contract initially up to 30 November 2026 with a high possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability.
