Job Context

The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for supporting and coordinating humanitarian interventions in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char, focusing on quality assurance of partner-implemented camp activities. The role will maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including CiCs, RRRC, UNO, DC offices, donors, and other humanitarian actors. The incumbent will also support networking, resource mobilization, and proposal development to strengthen the organization’s humanitarian portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

A. Camp Coordination & Quality Assurance (40%)

  • Monitor and ensure quality implementation of camp activities by partner NGOs in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char.
  • Conduct regular field visits to camps, collect feedback, and provide recommendations to partners and management.
  • Support partners in aligning camp activities with sector standards, donor requirements, and organizational commitments.
  • Report gaps, risks, and challenges to the Lead – Humanitarian Response & Emergency Management.

B. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation (30%)

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with CiC offices, RRRC, UNO, DC, ISCG, and other relevant humanitarian coordination bodies in Ukhiya and Bhashan Char.
  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings, cluster discussions, and working groups as assigned.
  • Facilitate timely information sharing between field stakeholders and the organization’s humanitarian response team.

C. Networking & Resource Mobilization (20%)

  • Establish and maintain networks with donors, UN agencies, INGOs, and like-minded organizations.
  • Track funding opportunities and share intelligence with the Lead – Humanitarian Response.
  • Provide inputs and field-level context for project concept notes and proposals.
  • Support donor field visits and communication requests.

D. Reporting, Learning & Compliance (10%)

  • Prepare periodic reports, briefs, and updates on humanitarian interventions in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char.
  • Document good practices, lessons learned, and success stories for internal and external sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, humanitarian principles, and donor requirements.

Required qualifications, experiences and skills

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Disaster Management, or relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian project management and coordination, preferably in refugee or displacement contexts.
  • Proven experience working in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya response or similar humanitarian settings.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms, camp management, and donor landscape.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong coordination, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and representation abilities.
  • Ability to work in complex, sensitive, and high-pressure environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and Bangla; knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian dialects is an asset.
  • Good command of MS Office and other project management tools.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to camps in Cox’s Bazar and Bhashan Char.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles, protection, gender, and safeguarding standards.

Workstation

Working Hours

8.5 hours per day including lunch break 30 minutes in between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Contract Tenure

This position requires frequent travel (75%) to the project locations and direct engagement with project implementation.

Salary & Benefits

We will offer a monthly consolidated salary in the range of BDT 160,491 –  172,295/-   CTC (may vary based on experience and current remuneration), along with other admissible benefits, such as Mobile Allowance, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Festival Bonus, Seniority Bonus, Medical Insurance with health and life coverage, Annual leave of 25 days, Sick leave of 15 days and excellent opportunities for professional development.

Required behaviours

A national employment contract up to up to 30 April 2027 with a high possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability.
